It will be closed Mondays and Tuesdays during the day season. Children 5 and younger are free. Admission and parking tickets must be purchased online at sdfair. To limit crowding, all guests must select their preferred arrival time at the time of purchase. Once inside the fairgrounds, there is no limitation on the stay. First on the list, of course, is fair food from fried favorites to corn on the cob to cinnamon rolls. Hand sanitizer can be found at at Guest Services, many food concession stands, and in several other areas like exhibit halls. However, we will not be selling additional Best Pass Ever passes. We do encourage you to purchase your parking pass online in advance of the event, as there will be no onsite sales and capacity is limited. We will however, have daily on-the-spot contests you are encouraged to participate in! We were not able to gather for the entry and judging period necessary to execute our competitive exhibits programs, so full traditional competitive exhibits will not be on display.

We look forward to having a full line-up at the San Diego County Fair. We encourage you to pack light—and if you do bring a bag, a clear bag is preferred—but we understand you may need to bring a purse, backpack, shopping tote or diaper bag to enjoy a full day at the Fairgrounds. All bags and parcels will be inspected as you enter the Fairgrounds.

You will need to unzip unsnap, untie, etc. We encourage you to take lots of photos to preserve your memories, but we do have some restrictions on where cameras and other photo-taking devices can and cannot be used.

Outside food and beverages will NOT be permitted. Exceptions include factor-sealed water bottles, food required for medical purposes, medically-indicated nutritional supplements, and baby food or baby formula. Guests may also bring empty bottles to be filled with water in our Guest Services office, located in the east end of the Grandstand. For the safety of our guests and employees, guns may not be brought onto the Fairgrounds.

An exception is made for shears, which are considered tools, that some guests intend to trade, sell, or have repaired through an authorized vendor.

Shears must be properly identified and displayed before entering the gates. We recommend that you tape shut the blades of the shears. Laser pointers are strictly prohibited, and will be confiscated during the gate security check. All clothing must be family-friendly. Pepper spray and similar sprays intended for self-defense are prohibited. Anything that can be used as a weapon is prohibited inside of the Fairgrounds.

The only animals allowed on the grounds are service animals and animals on exhibit or used in entertainment. We do not have day-care accommodations for pets.

Unapproved solicitors will be escorted off grounds and unauthorized promotional materials will be confiscated. For safety reasons, selfie sticks are strictly prohibited and may not be brought onto the Fairgrounds.

Do not bring skateboards, hoverboards, foot-powered scooters, roller skates, shoes with wheels in the soles, and similar types of wheeled transportation. Wagons and strollers are allowed; however bags and carriers of any kind are subject to search at event entrances. We prefer you use a hat to shield yourself from the sun.
