Thus, I'll tell you how many to place in each corner as we go. Black Orbs appear after you defeat some enemies in the outer quadrants. The enemies in the inner ring of each area will never drop Black Orbs. There are 2 ways to collect the Orbs dropped by enemies. The obvious way is to walk up to an Orb and hit the X button, which will add that one Orb to your collection. However, if you leave an Orb uncollected, it will fly off to some random location within that level and join with all of the other neglected Orbs from that level and form a "Massive Black Orb.
Although it will require some patience and the annoyance of navigating in the dark for a while, letting the Orbs collect is clearly the best way to go. You cannot advance to the next sublevel until you have lit up all 4 quadrants in the level above it by placing Orbs as described above. So, for example, you cannot access Umbra until you have lit up all 4 quadrants of Penumbra.
To access Hell's Challenge, first you have to accept the "God or Devil? Additionally, you must light up all 4 quadrants of all 3 main sublevels and defeat Phoenix in the Penumbra level. When you have done this, the elevator will give you the option of accessing the "Unknown" level, which is where you will battle the Shadowseer. There is some decent treasure to be found in the Subterra, although most should be repeats of items you already have.
However, this is the only place that you can obtain the must-have Wither spell. Whenever tempting loot is nearby, I'll alert you to its presence. If you attack a Magick Pot before it becomes vulnerable, it will almost certainly wipe out your entire party with a devastating volley of Magicks. As we make our way through the Subterra, I'll try to point out where these enemies are located so that you can adjust your Gambits accordingly.
Your mini-map will be disabled while you are in the Subterra, and the overlay map is of no use because the area doesn't fill in as you progress. Consequently, screenshots aren't going to help you navigate, and you will need to rely solely on my verbal descriptions. Loot Alert! To get there, start in the NW quadrant again, but this time take the exit to the N.
From that room go N again, then E into an L-shaped room, and E again through the doors in the S end of that L-shaped room. The chest should be sitting smack dab in the middle of the very large room, as shown below. Keep me logged in on this device Forgot your username or password?

Make sure to buff your party members in advance of initiating the battle with Protect , Shell , Haste and Bubble and to keep Phoenix attacking your tank by using Decoy. Ixion can be spawned on any of the three floors of the Subterra. You must travel using the Dias of Ascendance down to one of the three floors — Penumbra has the lowest chance, then Umbra, then Abyssal and Ixion will have lower HP if it is spawned on Abyssal, so your best bet is to clear all the way through the Subterra before trying to get it to spawn.
It has a small chance of appearing every time you take the lift from the main level down though, so it may spawn on you during any trip to any of the other levels. You will know that it has spawned because there will be no other foes in the area. Just wait around for a short period and it will appear. Check out the Ixion area for more information on how to defeat it:.
The last Mark in this area is the Shadowseer which is located in the Unknown area of the Subterra, so you will have to have completed all of the Pedestal of Nights and filled them with Black Orbs. You will also have to seek out and defeat Phoenix in order to reach the Unknown floor.
Take the Dias of Ascendance down when you are ready but be cautious — the battle begins as soon as you arrive. Hunt God or Devil? Games About Support Contact.
